Sunday 4th September 2022  12th Sunday after Trinity (23rd OT)Year C

CELEBRANT: As we follow Christ, we are His disciples. In union with our Lord, let us come to the Father who remains our refuge and our strength.

INTERCESSOR: Christ of all peoples, in every age You have been our refuge. We give unto Your care the nations of the World that we may not lose sight of God’s will for human happiness, in a quest for material growth and prosperity. Lord hear us. Lord graciously hear us

Father, we bring before you all who are suffering from extreme weather or natural disaster, especially today those in Pakistan. We pray for all those who suffer from famine or physical need; those who are prisoners and those who are refugees. Send Your Holy & Comforting Spirit from on High. Lord hear us. Lord graciously hear us

In these days of uncertainty we ask for your blessing upon our Island Nation; and upon our glorious Queen, Elizabeth and the Royal family. Guide those in Government; Strengthen those serving in the Armed Forces; in the emergency services; in our Schools; or in our Health Service; and bless those who give their service in charity.Lord hear us. Lord graciously hear us

Lord, guide and protect those who work at sea, especially our fishermen; bless our neighbours. Bless, too, our Town of Folkestone as we pray for its continued renewal. We pray for the work of the Rainbow Centre. Father, as we pray for all who are on our Parish list or known to each of us, we ask you be with them in their troubles.Lord hear us. Lord graciously hear us

Father, let Your Holy Spirit flow through this Church and out into the World. May we be a beacon of Your light in the spiritual darkness around us and may  Your community of St. Peter be a guide to all on our Pilgrimage with Your holy angels. Lord hear us. Lord graciously hear us

Heavenly Lord, as we give you thanks and remember this week the birth of our Blessed Lady, the Mother of God,  we pray for those on our Parish Prayer List…..… for those who have recently died, for John Spearpoint and Lesley Browne….. and those whose anniversaries fall at this time…  As do those of the Saints and Martyrs: St. Teresa of Calcutta, St Eanswythe…      May the Faithful Departed rest in peace. And rise in Glory.

As we celebrate the Nativity of our Lady, let us ask our Lady Mary, Mother of our Lord and Star of the Sea, to add her prayers to ours, as we say, Hail Mary

CELEBRANT: Father of all wisdom, marvellously, You created us, with greater wonders You redeemed us. Hear the prayers of the disciples of Your Son; grant our requests according to Your will, through Christ our Lord. Amen
